UNODC and Afghan authorities visit Proyecto Hombre

Responsibles for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), located in Vienna (Austria), have chosen Valencia city for a training on聽programmes of support and聽rehabilitation of drug dependencies for Afghan authorities.

Among other drug and alcohol rehabilitation centres, this delegation visited the Proyecto Hombre Centres located in Valencia and Alicante, guided by their directors, Vicent Andr茅s and Consagraci贸n Jare帽o, respectively. Durgin the visit, they got to know the聽biological-psychological-social model of comprehensive approach for people with drug addiction problems. Later on, this model will be adapted to Afghanistan with the collaboration of international and Spanish experts.

Working sessions on the design of continued care protocols and recover of people with drug addiction problems, adapted to the Afghan reality, have been organized by UNODC-WHO, together with the Bionexum Health clinic and Dr. Mar铆a Zarza, psychologist specialized in addictions, and the Research Group SEPLAN, integrated by researchers on this subject and the聽Jard铆 Bot脿nico from Universitat de Val猫ncia.
